University of Khorfakkan Students Complete Final Academic Year at University of Exeter

Fourth-year students from the College of Marine Sciences and Aquatic Biology at the University of Khorfakkan (UKF) are completing their fourth and final academic year at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, as part of an academic pathway that offers an international learning experience combining theoretical study with practical and field-based training. The students began their programme by familiarising themselves with the university campus and completing the necessary academic procedures. They were also introduced to the programmes and courses they will undertake throughout the year, preparing them for an applied learning experience that extends beyond classrooms and laboratories to coastal field sites. This approach enables students to conduct experiments and practical studies while connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world applications in marine environments. The programme provides students with the opportunity to experience advanced approaches to teaching and scientific research, broaden their knowledge in marine sciences, environmental studies and sustainability, and benefit from the academic and practical resources available at University of Exeter. The academic year at Exeter marks the final stage of the students’ undergraduate journey. Upon successfully fulfilling the graduation requirements, they will receive two university degrees in marine sciences from University of Khorfakkan and the University of Exeter, combining academic preparation in the United Arab Emirates with a specialised international study experience.
