“BRIDGES OF KNOWLEDGE: FROM BOOK PAGES TO FUTURE ALGORITHMS” 3RD ANNUAL CHARITY BOOK FAIR AT UKF

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote a culture of reading, philanthropy, and awareness of the role of knowledge in building individuals and society, University of Khorfakkan Library organized the Third Annual Charity Book Fair, held over two days under the theme “Bridges of Knowledge: From Book Pages to Future Algorithms”, in collaboration with the Sharjah Charity International.
The fair aims to build bridges that connect traditional knowledge with the horizons of the digital future, reinforcing reading as a human and intellectual value that enhances cultural and social communication. It also highlights the Library’s role as a beacon of knowledge and creativity, and as a hub for spreading academic and community culture.
The fair’s agenda included a variety of activities. The first day featured a guided tour of the exhibition pavilions, followed by a cultural session titled “Harbors of Knowledge: Poetic Readings”, which included notable literary figures such as Mr. Amin Al-Shahat from Sharjah Department of Culture and poet Muzafar Al-Hammadi. The session presented a range of poetic and intellectual readings exploring themes of literature and thought.
The second day featured a panel discussion in collaboration with the University’s Upskillingt Center titled “Artificial Intelligence and the Re-engineering of Thought and Knowledge.” The session was moderated by Dr. Abdullah Qasim, Lecturer at the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at University of Khorfakkan, with participation from Dr. Anas Al-Najdawi, Director of Abu Dhabi University – Dubai Campus, and Dr. Gomaa Ali, Associate Professor at the College of Marine Sciences and Aquatic Biology at University of Khorfakkan. The discussion explored the role of language and artificial intelligence in shaping knowledge identity and advancing the future of education and research.
The organization of this fair reflects the University’s commitment to fostering cultural awareness, promoting social responsibility, and making books a tool for both learning and giving—affirming its mission to build a reading, creative, and intellectually sustainable society.
