University of Khorfakkan showcased its scientific excellence and unique academic expertise in protecting marine life at the “3rd International Conference on Biodiversity, Environment, and Conservation of Marine Ecosystems” in Hong Kong. Professor Brendan Godley, Professor of Conservation Science at the University of Exeter, UK, and Honorary Professor at the University of Khorfakkan, delivered the keynote speech in the main session titled “Sea Turtle Conservation – A Success Story”, reflecting the joint efforts of both universities in supporting this field.
This conference is a unique global platform that brings together scientific research, policies, and practical approaches to protect marine biodiversity and promote the sustainability of vital marine ecosystems. It aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 14, “Life Below Water,” which focuses on conserving oceans, seas, and marine resources, using them sustainably, and addressing issues such as marine pollution and overfishing that threaten the health of marine ecosystems.
