Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee held its first and second meetings during the 2025–2026 academic year to establish its governance framework and strengthen the University’s culture of ethics, integrity, and institutional transparency. The Committee achieved the following key outcomes:

• Defined and approved the Committee’s scope of responsibilities, confirming its role in reviewing ethics-related complaints and grievances while referring employment and research matters to the appropriate committees.
• Agreed to review and update the University’s Code of Conduct in line with best practices, including provisions on reporting misconduct and protecting whistleblowers.
• Approved the establishment of a dedicated Whistleblowing email and discussed the access rights and governance procedures for managing reports.
• Reviewed and approved the framework for receiving, screening, and handling complaints and grievances, ensuring confidentiality, transparency, and a clear escalation process.
• Developed an institutional awareness plan to promote the Code of Conduct through employee orientation, awareness sessions, internal communications, and publication on the University’s website.
• Established key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the Committee’s effectiveness, including the number of complaints resolved, response time, institutional awareness, and compliance with governance standards.

Overall, the first two meetings laid the foundation for the Ethics Committee’s operations by establishing its governance structure, enhancing ethical oversight, and promoting a culture of integrity, accountability, and compliance across the University.
