EASTERN REGION VOLUNTEER WORK EXHIBITION AT UKF

The Eastern Region Volunteer Work Exhibition has launched at University of Khorfakkan, UKF, as part of the seventh series of Sharjah Volunteer Exhibitions organized by Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work across the Emirate. The exhibition, which attracts around 14 governmental and private institutions as well as volunteer teams, will run from November 18 to 19, aiming to promote the culture of volunteerism and enhance community participation. The opening of the exhibition was attended by Her Excellency Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, vice chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs, along with Ms. Fatima Mousa Al Balushi, Executive Director of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work; Professor, Kashif Kafaiya, vice chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Huda Al Naqbi, Director of Student Affairs; Dr. Mona Al Mulla, Director of Public Relations; and Zahra Ali Al Mazmi, Media Office Officer for the award, in addition to a number of officials from various participating institutions. On this occasion, Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, stated that the exhibition is being organized for the first time in the Eastern Region and targets all community members, including students, parents, and anyone interested in volunteer work. He explained that the exhibition seeks to promote the culture of volunteerism and facilitate joining various initiatives, as well as enhance cooperation among entities offering volunteering opportunities, thereby attracting audiences and raising awareness of available opportunities. Dr. Al Hammadi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the University for its efforts and cooperation in hosting the exhibition on campus, which provides the community with the opportunity to learn about projects, initiatives, and volunteering opportunities offered by participating entities. For her part, Her Excellency Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, expressed her pride in hosting this important exhibition. She emphasized that the collaboration with the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work aligns with the University’s vision to promote the culture of social responsibility among students and the wider community. Al Naqbi highlighted that such events are valuable opportunities for students to gain practical experience in the field of volunteer work, fostering a sense of giving and belonging. Additionally, she noted that the events contribute to strengthening ties between educational institutions and the community, reflecting the University’s commitment to its role as a leading educational institution in the region. She added that UKF continuously strives to serve the community by organizing and hosting diverse activities and events that focus on social and humanitarian issues, fostering a culture of collaboration and solidarity among community members and various entities. In the same context, Ms. Fatima Mousa Al Balushi, Executive Director of the Award, stated that the volunteer exhibition is part of a series of Sharjah Volunteer Exhibitions organized by the Award across the cities of Emirate, including Sharjah city, the central region, and the eastern region, with the aim of introducing volunteer opportunities, initiatives, and programs across the UAE. She explained that the exhibition attracted 14 governmental, federal, and local entities, as well as private institutions and volunteer teams, including the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Emirates Voluntary Association, Dubai Volunteer Diving Team, Environment and Protected Areas Authority – Khorfakkan Branch, Dibba Al-Hisn Parents’ Council affiliated with the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs, Sharjah Volunteer Center – Eastern Region, Sharjah Charity Association, Fujairah Social and Cultural Association, Sharjah Heritage Institute, Emirates Red Crescent, Sharjah Archaeology Authority, the Sanid Program affiliated with the Emirates Foundation, the University, and Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work. The organization of the exhibition at the University represents an important step in promoting the culture of volunteerism in the Eastern Region and highlighting the efforts of institutions and volunteer teams. It also aims to reach new segments of society, including youth and students, enabling them to actively participate in volunteer work and make a tangible positive impact.
